A journey of grace and dedication
The Bharatanatyam Arangetram of Aahana Elangovan is a proud and historic celebration, presented as part of the Alaraippu Dance School’s. Aahana's journey began under the guidance of her early teachers, and she continues to learn and grow under the mentorship of Mrs. Radhika Dinesh at Alaraippu Dance School in Mountain House, CA.
Her Salangai (Chalangai) Pooja was performed under the guidance of Mrs. Radhika Dinesh, during which she received her first pair of salangai at the temple in Mountain House, California — a sacred milestone marking her formal initiation into stage performance.
She will present her Arangetram in the Pandanalur style of Bharatanatyam — a revered classical tradition known for its purity of technique, graceful lines, precise footwork, and emphasis on expressive storytelling (abhinaya). This bani (style) upholds the aesthetic of dignity, restraint, and spiritual depth that characterizes traditional Bharatanatyam.
Her Arangetram repertoire has been meticulously shaped with the blessings and expert guidance of her esteemed Gurus, Smt. Mythili Kumar and Madurai R Muralidaran. The Nattuvangam for this momentous occasion will be led by Mrs. Radhika Dinesh.
